Dustin Poirier locks up a fight with Wonderboy Thompson: The Diamond set the record as the first fighter in UFC to knockout UFC’s highest-paid athlete and former UFC double division champ Conor McGregor.
The Diamonds last bout witnessed him losing to then Lightweight division champion Charles Oliveira in UFC 269 via a third-round rear-naked choke.
Dustin Poirier ranks second in the lightweight division with 22 wins and 7 losses.
Being at the elite rankings in the division, the Diamond has been waiting for his next match for a year. Followers believed he was kept aside for a trilogy bout against his long-standing rival Conor McGregor, but as there is no official statement about Mystic macs comeback it’s doubtful about their trilogy bout.
The Diamond called out most of the fighters in the lightweight division and moved to the welterweight division to find a potential match.
