A former bantamweight champion will face another intriguing opponent in the UFC 296 showdown that will take place on December 16 in Las Vegas. According to Marcel Dorff, veteran bantamweight Brian Kelleher and former champion Cody Garbrandt will face off in Las Vegas.

Leon Edwards defending his welterweight championship against Colby Covington is the main event. In the co-main event, Alexandre Pantoja will also make his first defence of his flyweight title against Brandon Royval.
Garbrandt will compete again this year against Kelleher after defeating Trevin Jones by unanimous decision at UFC 285 to secure his first victory since 2020. Since he defeated Dominick Cruz to capture the bantamweight championship at UFC 207, “No Love” has been unable to win consecutive matches. After extending his winning streak to 11 matches, Garbrandt lost his next three matches in the knockout round.
