Following UFC’s official announcement, many MMA fans are happy to watch Makhachev defend his title again finally. Earlier this month, there were speculations regarding another rematch between Alexander Volkanovski vs Islam Makhachev; however, due to scheduled surgery, Volkanovski backed out. This brought the former lightweight champion back into the title picture.

On the other hand, UFC canceled the upcoming bout featuring Paulo Costa vs Ikram Aliskerov. Instead, the promotion rescheduled Costa for a bug fight for the returning Khamzat Chimaev. Both men highly dislike each other, and it will be a big fight to watch out for. This will be a middleweight bout as Chimaev has moved from the welterweight division.

With two big matches on the card, fans have labeled the Abu Dhabhi card as the “Fight of the Year.” Fans are thrilled to watch some of the best UFC PPV events with excellent match cards this year. The upcoming UFC 291 is also recognized as the best main card until 2023.

UFC 294: Will Charles Oliveira reclaim his UFC Lightweight title from Khamzat Chimaev?

After their first encounter at UFC 280, fans were disheartened to watch Charles Oliveira defeated via submission. Many doubted Oliveira would bounce back to the top. Surprisingly, at UFC 289, the former lightweight champion shut the haters with a first-round TKO to Beniel Dariush.

At UFC 294, both men will face each other once again in a rematch for the UFC lightweight title. Islam has overpowered his opponents in his previous fights, and his excellent striking ability against Alexander Volkanovsi showed fans his potential to win being on his feet. This main event bout is highly anticipated as both men would be ready to uncover their weapons under their sleeves for the UFC gold on the line.

If Oliveira overpowers the champion on the feet, he will get Islam Makhachev knocked out. However, it is highly doubted with UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov in Makhachev’s corner.
