Islam Makhachev And Kamaru Usman Before UFC 294
The UFC’s official X Twitter uploaded the video with the caption “Boys are feeling good heading into #UFC294.” The gap between the boxers, who are in different weight classes, was instantly recognised by the crowd. Usman is the top-ranked welterweight, yet at UFC 294 he is battling in the middleweight division. The fact that Makhachev appeared to be larger than Usman in the video was an intriguing observation.
One fan’s comment under the UFC post, “How does Islam look bigger than him,” was prompted by the size difference.
Islam Makhachev loses a lot of weight to reach the lightweight limit, similar to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Despite competing at welterweight, Usman has never missed a weight. Usman discussed his strategy for capturing the middleweight championship and then returning to defend his welterweight title in an interview with TMZ Sports. In contrast, Makhachev explained in his interview with BT Sports his desire for a second welterweight championship.
UFC 294 is expected to be one of the top pay-per-view events of 2023 thanks to the recent last-minute replacements Alexander Volkanovski and Kamaru Usman. Brazilian and Russian competitors were scheduled to face off in the main and co-main events of the original pay-per-view, however Charles Oliveira and Paulo Costa pulled out due to injuries. Volkanovski and Usman respectively took their place.
