UFC 293: Israel Adesanya Mocked Sean Strickland For His Monster Deal And Hailed Prime Energy
At the recent pre-fight press conference in Australia, Sean Strickland brought up the topic of whether he truly represents the people by using his platform to address their concerns. He emphasized that he’s unlike other fighters who have wholeheartedly aligned themselves with brands, labeling them as “sellouts.” In response, Adesanya playfully mocked Strickland for his association with Monster Energy.
He stated, “He told me I’m sell out. When did you (Strickland) sign with monster energy? When did you sell your soul? You signed the deal and sold your soul recently right? Isn’t it funny guys everytime I fight someone Monster immediately signs them immediately and becomes a partner with them. You know why? Because I didn’t sell out. You sold your soul to Monster, what did you do to sell your soul?”
Adesanya, backed by Prime Energy, consistently faces fighters sponsored by Monster Energy, such as Alex Periera and now Strickland. Strickland defended his authenticity, expressing his affection for Monster.
In response, Adesanya teasingly dubbed him a “Monster drink sellout.” Strickland remained loyal to Monster, while Adesanya highlighted his sponsorship with Logan Paul and KSI’s brand, saying, “I’m in my Prime.”
