There won’t be a fight between Israel Adesanya and Manel Kape at UFC 293, but it almost happened during a heated exchange at the pre-fight press conference on Thursday in Australia.
When asked about his next fight with Felipe dos Santos, which was quickly planned when local favourite and Adesanya colleague Kai Kara-France fell off the card due to a concussion Kara-France sustained in training camp, the argument broke out.
Kara-France attended the press conference despite not competing in order to support his City Kickboxing teammates, and Kape soon became aware of him sitting nearby.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Being Called ‘Funny’ For Teaching Manel Kape
At the UFC 293 news conference, things turned heated as flyweight Manel Kape tossed a water bottle at Kai Kara-France who was in the crowd before getting into a fight with middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
In order to compete on the UFC 293 card, which is scheduled to take place on September 10 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, flyweights Kape and Kara-France developed a rivalry.
‘Don’t Blink,’ however, announced his withdrawal from the bout via social media last month after suffering a concussion while training.
Tuivasa attempted to restore order while grinning throughout the conflict. Sean Strickland, Adesanya’s opponent, somehow managed to emerge as the conflict’s calming influence.
“Calm the f*** down!” Strickland said, addressing Adesanya. “That’s not the fight. Leave the little man alone. I’m supposed to be the assh*** here Izzy, that’s not your job.”
After the incident at the presser took place, a video clip of Manel Kape started going viral, which showed how Khabib was trying to teach Manel about how good coaching makes a difference in the result
Fans found the contradiction funny on how Manel had behaved in front of Khabib as they commented: “Khabib is so funny fan.”
While someone commented, “Man was just getting big brothered.”
Eventually, when asked if he would still be interested in seeing Kara-France after UFC 293 ended, cooler heads won out, and the press conference went on.
After the press conference, Kape fired one last shot at Kara-France by pointing his middle finger squarely at him in the audience as he made his way towards Dos Santos on stage.
