Sean Strickland’s first fight in Australia happened in less than a day when the notorious American punched a man in the stomach in Bondi on Sunday.
The controversial American was out and about when a fight fan approached him. He will face Israel Adesanya for the middleweight championship at UFC 293 in Sydney on Sunday.
Seab Strickland later said:
“Boom, right in the guts,”
“I’d only been in Australia a day and already I’d committed an assault.”

Did Sean Strickland Punch a Fan In Sydney Australia?
On September 5, Strickland admitted to assaulting a spectator just days before his main event match at UFC 293.
Strickland claims that while walking the streets of Sydney’s Bondi Junction, a fan approached him.
Strickland recalled the event by saying, “At first, I thought the person was coming up for a picture. “Man, I love the fans, but whoever wants a photo, go for it.
Instead, he claims that when the fan said, “Izzy is gonna f**k you up,” the championship contender hit him with a punch.
However, Strickland warned, “If you wanna come up to me and run your f**king mouth, I’ll smack you like I smack anybody else.”
Defining the assault as a “uppercut to his stomach,” he claimed. “I left after that. But if I run into the person again, no issues, man… I’ll give him credit for not filing a complaint.”
Maybe this is what Adesanya had in mind when he said that Strickland was “embarrassing the company” before the title match this weekend. “Tarzan” frequently makes news for being terrible on several levels and has a history of losing his temper. Strickland has even recently boasted about how many individuals he has hurt throughout training camp.
It’s safe to say that this new prank puts honorary citizenship in peril.
