Following an earlier claim by Marlon Vera Delgado on Twitter, Vera’s agent, Iridium Sports Agency, made the announcement on Friday.

Munhoz only recently gained victory after a three-bout winless run that saw him suffer two defeats to former champions Dominick Cruz and Jose Aldo as well as a No Contest after being poked in the eye during his battle with Sean O’Malley. Munhoz’s record in his last seven fights is 2-4, 1NC.

According to the UFC’s official rankings, Vera is still ranked #6 in the 135-pound category, while Monhoz is now ranked #10.
Two title fights headline UFC 292 on August 19, 2023, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, including a bantamweight championship match between Aljamain Sterling and the well-liked Sean O’Malley.
