Quebec’s Marc-Andre Barriault also secured a victory over Eryk Anders with a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) while Ontario’s Jasmine Jasudavicius beat Miranda Maverick with a split decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Quebec’s Aiemann Zahabi won in impressive fashion with a first-round knockout victory (1:04) over Aoriqileng, and Ontario’s Kyle Nelson secured a unanimous decision win (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) over Blake Bilder.

However, the night’s biggest story came from the main event, where Amanda Nunes dominated challenger Irene Aldana to retain her bantamweight title, winning by unanimous decision (50-44, 50-44, 50-43).

Nunes, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest female mixed martial artists of all time, then stunned the crowd by announcing her retirement. She placed both her bantamweight and featherweight titles on the mat, ripped off her gloves, and announced that she was stepping away from the sport.

Nunes leaves the sport with a record of 23-5 and having won 14 of her last 15 bouts. She defeated some of the biggest names in women’s mixed martial arts, including Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Shayna Baszler, and Valentina Shevchenko, over her remarkable career. The 35-year-old celebrated with friends and family in the ring following her announcement.
