After four fights and a long-standing rivalry, Brandon Moreno emerged victorious. In the UFC 283 co-main event on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Moreno defeated Deiveson Figueiredo by doctor’s stoppage TKO at the end of the third round to reclaim the undisputed flyweight championship. Due to an eye injury, Figueiredo was deemed unable to continue.

Moreno delivered a powerful left hook in the third round, followed by what appeared to be an eye poke, but the referee allowed the contestants to continue. While Deiveson voiced his displeasure to the referee, Moreno pursued Figueiredo and ultimately regained the lead. By keeping Figueiredo on his back until the next bell, Moreno accrued much control time.

Before the fourth round began, the doctor visited to examine Figueiredo’s eye. Because the vision was swelled shut, the doctor advised that the fight be stopped. The undisputed flyweight champion of the UFC is Brandon Moreno once more.

At UFC 283, Johnny Walker started well, which led to Paul Craig’s fast defeat. At the 2:16 mark of Round 1, Walker (20-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) capitalized on Craig’s pursuit of the takedown and punished him with hard blows for the TKO victory.

Walker kicked the fight off with a heavy leg kick, and both fighters found their range. Craig’s front leg kept getting chewed up by Walker. As he grasped a leg, Walker struck Craig in the right hand with a stiff hand. Walker sent his hammerfists into kill mode as Craig dove on one leg. The thrashing was only going to worsen, so the referee intervened to save Craig.

Rua had a good start, but Ihor Potieria clipped him with a hard right hand in the first round, causing him to tumble to the ground. after that. Rua was buried underneath Potieria without providing any serious resistance, and referee Herb Dean was forced to end the match as soon as Potieria began unleashing strikes. The first round came to a close at 4:05.

Despite having solid grappling backgrounds, Ferreira and Rodrigues spent most of their bout, which lasted a little over four minutes, standing and slapping each other. Before Ferreira backed up to the fence, fired a few feints, and finally connected with a left hook on the button that knocked Rodrigues to the ground, neither boxer made a stand. There was no need for additional shots once Rodrigues’ head struck the canvas with force. At 4:13 of Round 1, the match was declared over.

In their UFC 283 preliminary bout, Ismael Bonfim repeatedly sent Terrance McKinney’s mouthpiece flying before knocking him out cold with a flying knee. In his UFC debut, Bonfim became the first fighter to send McKinney to the second round in the octagon. With a seven-second finish, he created an as impressive first impression as his opponent did almost two years prior.

McKinney gave Bonfim plenty of time to prepare the closing blow, which, to McKinney’s dismay, occurred just before his mouthpiece was knocked out in a fight. At the 2:17 second mark, the switch attack struck, causing McKinney to go stiff.
