UFC 282: Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon: Paddy Pimblett has been an entertaining prospect since he entered the UFC domain. With just three fights into the promotion, Pimblett has already shown prominent features of becoming a future prize fighter. Ahead of his UFC 282 return against Jared Gordon, Paddy Pimblett connected with ESPN MMA and talked about several things surrounding his MMA career.

Paddy Pimblett also revealed how he received the nickname ‘Baddy’. While UFC fans may think that Pimblett received the ‘Baddy’ nickname during his Pro-MMA days, in reality, the story goes back to his amateur fighting days.

Speaking about his nickname ‘Baddy’, Pimblett said, “In the amateur fights, the coach just literally turned around and said, like one of the lads, you know.”

Paddy Pimblett also mentioned how he was left with no nickname before his coach suggested one for him. The UFC fighter continued, “Paddy the baddy. That’s it ‘Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett, and he looked at me and I just said, ‘go ahead’.”

Paddy Pimblett currently holds a 19-3 professional record and is still undefeated in the UFC. He is nowhere found in the top 15 UFC lightweight ranking at the moment. However, a win over ‘Flash’ Gordon will be a massive step up for him.

‘Baddy’ will now co-headline UFC 282 after the fall-out Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira for the light heavyweight belt. While Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev will headline UFC 282 for the vacant light heavyweight strap, Pimblett will try to advance his unbeaten run in the promotion.
