UFC 273: Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chiamev, is ‘Durinho’ the answer to the ‘Borz’ Mystery?

Khamzat Chiamev’s record is undisputed with 10-0 and he is unscathed with only one significant strike absorbed, he has practically been untouchable inside that Octagon and has only went to the second round once in his UFC career.

Gilbert Burns on the other hand is being considered as an underdog in this fight in spite of being a top ranked welterweight. He is coming off a dominant decision win over Wonderboy Thompson and was on a six fight win streak before eventually losing to his former teammate Usman in the title fight.

Can Burns solve the ‘Borz Mystery’?: Gilbert Burns undoubtedly the biggest roadblock and test for the hype train of Khamzat Chiamev. The Wolf would face his first ever top 10 fighter in form of Durinho.

Gilbert Burns is third degree black belt in BJJ and that makes him and his ground game really tough, so it won’t be easy for Khamzat to take him out on the ground compared to his previous fights. The latter is similar too, Burns won’t be having an easy time on the ground either.

One factor that we all should consider and put in notice is that, we all are unaware of how good Khamzat’s chin is and considering the power of Burns, if he manages to land a series of those power strikes he might take Chiamev out. Although Khamzat’s defence is quite formidable and it won’t be a piece of cake.

Gilbert Burns is also training with his former teammate and the current Welterweight Champion, Usman. The pound for pound no. 1 in the world himself is quite a big dude and monster on ground, which makes him the perfect partner. We are now just days away from knowing the outcome of this fight.
