Curfews had been implemented in cities around the nation as a result of the shooting of George Floyd on May 25. President Donald Trump also momentarily sought refuge in a bunker amid a night of violent protests.

On the evening of May 25, when Mr Floyd purchased a pack of smokes from Cup Foods, a grocery store, a report was made.

A store employee thought the $20 money he was using was fake and reported it to the police.

Mr. Floyd had relocated from his hometown of Houston, Texas, to Minneapolis where he had been residing for a number of years. He had lately been employed as a bouncer in the metropolis, but the coronavirus pandemic had rendered him, along with millions of other Americans, jobless.

Mr Floyd frequently visited Cup Foods. He was a pleasant customer with a friendly demeanour who never made a scene. On the day of the incident, Mr Abumayyaleh was not, however, at the office. His teen employee was simply following the process when he reported the strange charge.

This incident took place 3 years back, but the Former UFC veteran Jake Shields decided to bring up the topic again, as he wrote on Twitter “ George Floyd was a sc*mbag drug addict who beat and robbed a pregnant woman. It should not be controversial to mock, ridicule and laugh at him.”

Derek Chauvin, a former police officer who took part in the murder, has been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter. Thomas Lane, J. Kueng, and Tou Thao, three additional cops who were present at the scene, were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder. The four officers had already all been fired.
