Conor McGregor claimed that he would knockout BMF champion Justin Gaethje right after the latter knocked out Dustin Poirier in the main-event of UFC 291. Follow UFC News Updates with Insidesport.IN
McGregor, who suffered consecutive defeats against Dustin Poirier in his last two outings, is now aiming for a comeback after more than two years.
Meanwhile, the retired fighter and the original BMF, Jorge Masvidal, don’t appear to have liked McGregor’s quirky reaction to Poirier vs Gaethje 2,
Jorge Masvidal took to Twitter and wrote, “[Conor McGregor] shut ur mouth you pi**ing hot midget ur not cleared to fight. Talking about fighters going thru the grind and process. I bet you never say my name you scared.”
Jorge Masvidal called out Conor McGregor multiple times in 2019. Fresh off his three wins against Till, Askren and Diaz, Masvidal looked out for a massive payday.
Unable to face Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal fought Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title. However, ‘Gamebred’ didn’t win anything after 2019.
He suffered four straight losses against Usman (2X), Covington and Burns before hanging up the gloves.
Jorge Masvidal is now a fight promoter, but it seems that he still has animosity left for Conor McGregor.
Conor McGregor hasn’t mentioned Jorge Masvidal anytime soon and has only been keen on facing Michael Chandler. Meanwhile, ‘Notorious’ has also wanted to face Justin Gaethje, which ‘The Highlight’ declined.

Why did Justin Gaethje decline a chance to fight Conor McGregor?
Justin Gaethje is now the BMF champion and can potentially earn the lightweight title shot against the winner of Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliveira 2 post UFC 294.
Meanwhile, a fight against Conor McGregor would still fetch the biggest payday for Justin Gaethje, even without any titles on the line.
The BMF titlist, however, doesn’t want to face Conor McGregor, whom he accused of ‘cheating’ with steroids.
Justin Gaethje said, “I am not going to fight someone on steroids. I have never taken steroids in my life. Never will. I have never taken steroids and I don’t want to fight someone that’s cheating.”
Conor McGregor hasn’t won a fight since beating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January 2020.
It’s been more than three and a half years and the Irishman needs to secure a dominant win on his return. That said, it remains to be seen who he faces amongst everyone.
