The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has officially acquired Bellator MMA. The announcement, made by PFL chairman Donn Davis on Monday, marks a significant milestone for the organization and sets the stage for a new era of global dominance in mixed martial arts.
PFL Aiming to Surpass the UFC
PFL’s acquisition of Bellator not only concludes months of speculation but also ushers in a realm of potential for both entities. Davis expressed his excitement on the social media platform X (previously Twitter), proclaiming that the acquisition forms a “new global MMA powerhouse.”
On Monday, Davis had a conversation with Ariel Helwani on “The MMA Hour” to provide further details about the deal and its implications for the future.
During the show, Davis mentioned: “now PFL company will run Bellator our media operations our ad salesforce, our capabilities we’ll rebuild a lot of that but the product and the brand we will revitalise more technology, little but better production and mostly international cities” he also added “you even mentioned earlier on your show UFC hasn’t tapped into all that international demand.”
Davis outlined his plans to enhance the technological aspects of the organization, improve production quality, and prioritize international expansion.
He expressed his ambition to take the PFL beyond its current boundaries and surpass the UFC, the long-standing dominant force in the MMA world.
The move to go more international aligns with the PFL’s overall strategy of providing a global platform for fighters to showcase their talent.
With a renewed focus on international expansion and a commitment to enhancing the overall MMA experience, the PFL is positioning itself as a force to be reckoned with.
