It’s been over five years since Mayweather vs McGregor, but the combat world continues to talk about it. Nate Diaz reminisced the MMA fans about the bout while referring to his own UFC 196 win over Conor McGregor. A few days back, McGregor teased a potential fourth clash against Diaz but demanded to happen at the power slap championship and Nate Diaz didn’t fail to offer his response.

Nate Diaz posted a clip of the UFC 196 main event on Twitter and wrote, “If submissions weren’t allowed I knocked you out way faster than Floyd did”

Nate Diaz submitted Conor McGregor at UFC 196, which was also McGregor’s maiden defeat in the UFC. That said, Diaz stung his Irish opponent with commendable strikes before choking him out. While Conor McGregor suffered a horrific loss that day, he avenged it by beating Nate Diaz via decision at UFC 202. Hence, there’s no way Conor McGregor accepted the recent social media trolling silently. Here’s how McGregor responded on Twitter.

The former UFC champion wrote, “I carried floyd. Not next time. Like in the pub. One shot. Nighty night I don’t give a rats, U too , 2.”

After losing to Nate Diaz, McGregor earned back-to-back wins in a rematch against Diaz and then against Eddie Alvarez in the same year to earn a multi-million boxing crossover against Floyd Mayweather. The fight fetched him generational wealth but put a dent in McGregor’s combat legacy. With a 0-1 pro boxing record under his belt, McGregor’s UFC career has been bleak in recent years too.
