Recently, word spread that UFC heavyweight Walt Harris had been given a one-year suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission, or NAC.
Harris, who is 40 years old as of this writing, won’t be able to compete until July 24, 2024. Josh Parisian was scheduled to battle the UFC heavyweight in June of this year.

However, Harris was disqualified from taking on Parisian after testing positive for drostanolon on June 24. The suspension will in fact be retroactive, starting the day after the test is unsuccessful.
Harris has already completed more than three months of his ban. Given his advanced age, the UFC heavyweight’s suspension might spell the end of his professional career.
Additionally, Harris has lost his last three matches by knockout. Harris, who was last spotted in the octagon in June 2021, may have met his demise as a result of the suspension.
He was defeated by Marcin Tybura in the first round of his previous fight. He had previously lost consecutive fights to Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem.
The heavyweight division of the UFC has a clear future. At UFC 295 versus Stipe Miocic, Jon Jones will make the first defence of his heavyweight championship. The division’s long-term goals, however, are still very much in flux.
The UFC has attracted a new generation of heavyweights, but many of them are currently watching from the sidelines to see what happens at UFC 295 instead. After twice challenging for the title, Cyril Gane recently solidified his position as the next contender with a victory over Sergei Spivac in the first round. Additionally, Tom Aspinall made a remarkable comeback and defeated Marcin Tybura in the process.
All the way up at heavyweight, other names like Curtis Blaydes, Alexander Volkov, and Sergei Pavlovich add to the excitement.
