Rodtang is currently on a three-fight win streak since his defeat to former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson. Rodtang and Johnson fought in a unique hybrid rules fight last year. However, two days ago, Rodtang took to social media to reveal he became a monk.

Rodtang posted a series of photos and videos which showed him getting his head shaved and performing rituals to become a monk. According to reports, Rodtang has joined the monastery for two weeks.
This will come as s surprise to ONE Fighting Championship fans as Rodtang recently beat Jidou Yibu via a unanimous decision. Therefore, fans will now speculate whether ‘The Iron Man’ is calling it quits in the sport.
Will Rodtang Jitmuangnon compete again after becoming a monk?
After the news of him becoming a monk, the question all fans will have is whether the Muay Thai champion will compete again. Thankfully for fans, all signs point towards Rodtang returning to action soon.
‘The Iron Man’ confirmed he wanted to challenge for the kickboxing title and then move to MMA. This was after his victory over Yibu two weeks back. Moreover, ONE Fighting Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong also confirmed Rodtang would return to action.
Chatri said, “Of course we want Rodtang and Superlek to fight, whether it’s for the Muay Thai title or the kickboxing title. But we also have to consider the grand prix.”
Therefore, fans will breathe a sigh of relief with this statement from Chatri Sityodtong. Although they might have to wait a while before they see Rodtang in action, at least we know for sure ‘The Iron Man’ will return.
