However, sports like MMA are slowly growing in popularity in the US. And while it is nowhere close to the NFL, many of the players follow the UFC. NFL players transitioning to combat sports is not new. There have been a few NFL players who have taken up combat sports, most recently Chad Johnson, who fought on Floyd Mayweather’s undercard. So let’s see which NFL stars could crossover and do well in the UFC.

5. Chandler Jones
At number five is a no-brainer. Chandler Jones is the brother of current heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Moreover, in the past, Jon Jones admitted that Chandler is the most athletic of the brothers. And although he is 33, we could see Jon Jones helping his brother transition to MMA seamlessly.
4. Dan Skipper
At number four is Detroit Lions’ offensive tackle Dan Skipper. The 28-year-old is the tallest player in the league at 6’10”. And although he is well over the heavyweight limit, if Skipper could make weight through a strict training camp, his height and reach would be a huge advantage in the UFC octagon.
3. Kenneth Walker III
Third on our list is the fastest man in the NFL this season Kenneth Walker III. The Seattle Seahawks running back is an insane mix of speed, power, and size. Therefore, he could definitely be a menace to the light-heavyweight division. And at 22, he has enough time to pick up the sport.
2. JJ Watt
At number two is JJ Watt. Watt has a similar build to that of Brock Lesnar. And we all know what Lesnar did in the UFC. Therefore, it’s a no-brainer. The 34-year-old is built like a tank and has the power to match. Therefore, we could definitely see JJ Watt in the UFC heavyweight division.
1. Danielle Hunter
And at number one has to be Danielle Hunter. Hunter is one of the most complete athletes in the NFL. He stands at 6’6” and weighs 240 lbs. Moreover, he is lightning-quick. Thus, given this unique combination of size, speed, and agility, we believe he would be a force to reckon with in the UFC.
