Dana White details why Israel Adesanya is better than Henry Cejudo
The UFC president recently caught up with TSN for an Interview ahead of the UFC’s return to Canada at UFC 289. When asked about Henry Cejudo, White said, “I just think it’s the longevity. He didn’t stick around long enough, you know. Look at Israel [Adesanya]. Israel wants to fight every three months.”
These comments show that White feels Cejudo is even behind the current middleweight champion in the GOAT list. He then added, “Look how fast Israel Adesanya was willing to fight Pereira. And then jump right back in and fight him again. That’s what fight fans love. So, unless you’re that guy…. Henry Cejudo retired earlier than he should have.”
Cejudo will not enjoy these comments and will definitely disagree with White’s reasoning. However, Adesanya’s activity is definitely one thing that separates him from the others. White is spot on in saying Adesanya wants to fight as often as possible.
Moreover, Adesanya has beaten all the other top five middleweights in the UFC. And Dana White values this approach more than the achievements. However, the GOAT debate is very subjective, and different people will have different opinions.
What do you make of Dana White’s comments? Do you think Israel Adesanya is a better fighter than Henry Cejudo? Do you think Henry Cejudo retired early?
