Daniel Cormier has sent out a strong message to his former foe, Jon Jones. The former UFC double champion and current commentator condemned Jones’ attempt to change the history of the sport. In addition, he also explained why Jones and he would never be able to come to a common ground.
The Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier rivalry was one of the sport’s fiercest rivalries. They fought twice between 2015 and 2017. And after weeks of high-octane press conferences and even a brawl, Cormier came up short in both fights. However, the commission then overturned the second loss to a no contest.

Daniel Cormier has a message to Jon Jones – Here’s what he said
The UFC and USADA recently ended their agreement. As a result, Jones took to the social media platform, X, to share his thoughts. In his post, the UFC champion accused them of multiple things and also said the UFC should change his no-contest in the second fight to a win.
Cormier spoke to Ben Askren on his podcast and addressed this post from Jones. When reading the post, he said, “People will try to rewrite history. You can’t rewrite history.” This comment was in reference to Jones’ request to change the outcome of the fight on his record.
Cormier then explained why he will never be able to see eye-to-eye with Jones. He said, “First off, I don’t believe that it’s all true. And this is like one of the reasons why Jones and I can never truly just come to a common ground. Because you just say whatever you want.”
Thus, it is clear that Cormier does not believe Jones was innocent in those incidents. Despite multiple claims from the GOAT himself, the former heavyweight champion feels this will prevent them from getting along.
What do you make of Daniel Cormier’s comments on Jon Jones? Do you agree that Jones’ attempt to change his record is futile? Or do you think Daniel Cormier is drawing at straws and they should change the rematch to a knockout win for Jones?
