ONE Championship has the advantage of putting on different disciplines. They have events in MMA, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and others. Therefore, they have this advantage over the UFC. Dana White’s Rival Promotion Who Extended Offer to Joe Rogan, Surprises Translator With Bonus
ONE Championship offers the most unique post-fight bonus
At ONE Friday Fights 38, ONE Championship did something that no promotion has ever done. The promotion has built a reputation for giving generous bonuses. However, this time it’s different. They announced that the translator for the interviews would get a bonus. President Chatri Sityadong gave the translator for the night an incredible 350,000 baht bonus for his work at the event. It works out to around $10,000.
This is another way that ONE Championship will try to get more attention to themselves. Prior to this, they offered Joe Rogan the chance to commentate on their events. And Joe Rogan is arguably the most recognizable commentator on the UFC.
Therefore, it is clear that the Asian promotion is continuing to do things very differently. They have always stuck by the fact that they are looking to compete with the biggest promotions in the world and are doing it in the most unconventional ways possible.
While the UFC and Dana White will not pay much attention to these steps, it will undoubtedly draw eyes to their events and their promotion if they can continue to pull off such moves. Who knows what’s next on ONE Championship’s bid to compete with the UFC?
