Dana White speaks up about Conor McGregor
Many expected Conor McGregor to return by the end of the year. This came about as a result of McGregor himself saying it. However, the former champion missed the deadline to get back into the USADA testing pool to be able to compete this year.
Despite this, a leaked UFC 296 card showed Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler as the main event on December 16. And while no one has confirmed anything, fans got excited about the return of McGregor. However, we now have confirmation that this is not the case.
New UFC CEO Dana White caught up with Piers Morgan and spoke about McGregor’s return. He said, “He is back in the gym. He is training and yes, I expect to see Conor fighting next year.” This is information that we already know. However, this will put to bed any rumors that McGregor will return in 2023.
White then gave his opinion on Conor McGregor’s lavish lifestyle. He told Morgan, “Once a certain level of money is attained, to be the person that you were coming up, to be that hungry and work that hard and be that dedicated to the sport, or whatever craft it is you do, money changes everything, and Conor McGregor has made that kind of money.”
So there you have it. Dana White has confirmed that Conor McGregor will return in 2024 and not in 2023. While this news may not surprise fans, it will definitely disappoint a few who were hoping to see McGregor back in action as soon as possible.
