Tyson Fury’s former rival Deontay Wilder appears to be next on the list. Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, spoke to FightHype.com. And when asked about a potential Ngannou vs Wilder fight, Scott said, “We’re already in communications about it. He’s an option now. And we’re going to see where things go.”
Scott then confirmed that the communication started again after the Fury fight and that he was not referring to the first communication before Ngannou vs Fury happened. And the American seemed confident about securing a deal when he said, “He’s definitely one of the options that we’re seeking for now. Me personally, I believe he’s willing to do good business.”
The American trainer and former boxer also praised Ngannou for his performance against Fury. He applauded his ability to hold his own in his professional boxing debut. However, he gave his prediction for a potential Ngannou vs Wilder fight. Scott said, “I believe he’s right there to be hit by Deontay. As poised as he is and as mature as he came across.”
