Max Holloway Opens Up About Having a Rematch With Volkanovski

When asked about the possibility of a rematch with Volkanovski, Holloway responded with enthusiasm, saying, “100% bro.” The Hawaiian fighter clearly has his sights set on redemption and is determined to avenge his previous losses to the Australian.

The first encounter between Holloway and Volkanovski took place at UFC 245, held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Volkanovski put an end to Holloway’s impressive two-and-a-half-year reign as the champion, winning the bout via a comfortable unanimous decision. It was a significant setback for Holloway, who had established himself as one of the most dominant fighters in the division.

Despite the convincing defeat, Holloway was granted an immediate rematch against Volkanovski. The two warriors clashed again at UFC 251 in July 2020, and this time, the fight was much closer. Both fighters showcased their exceptional skills, and it was a highly competitive affair. However, Volkanovski narrowly emerged victorious with a split-decision win, leaving Holloway once again disappointed.

In their highly anticipated third encounter, Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway squared off at UFC 276 in Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena. Once again, it was Volkanovski who emerged victorious, this time securing a win via a unanimous decision. Holloway, unfortunately, faced disappointment once more as he was unable to turn the tide in his favor.

Since then, Holloway has been working hard to improve his skills and make the necessary adjustments to secure a victory in a potential third fight against Volkanovski.

The Hawaiian fighter’s relentless determination and his ability to adapt make him a formidable opponent for anyone in the featherweight division.

While no official announcement has been made regarding a potential rematch, Holloway’s expressed desire to face Volkanovski once again adds fuel to the speculation.

The UFC matchmakers will undoubtedly take Holloway’s wishes into consideration when determining the future of the featherweight division.

Now Max Holloway is scheduled to take on The Korean Zombie in an upcoming event referred to as UFC on ESPN+ 83. The fight is set to occur on August 26, 2023, and will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Don’t mis the action.
