When Loopy Godinez challenges a strawweight ranked in the top 10, she hopes to build on her current success in UFC.
The next fight between Godinez and Jandiroba is scheduled for March 30 at an undisclosed UFC Fight Night event; the location is not yet known to the general public.
Jandiroba confirmed the matchup on social media following an earlier report from MMA Melotto, while MMA Junkie confirmed the matchup with an individual close to the issue. Since the promotion hasn’t released an official announcement, the individual asked to remain anonymous.
Loopy Godlinez Looks To Making Another Record In 2024
UFC strawweight contender Loopy Godinez appears poised for a chance to go towards contention in the upcoming year after setting a record in 2023.
The Mexican is scheduled to battle high up the pecking order next time out after rising to #11 at 115 pounds on the ladder with a tough decision victory over Tabatha Ricci at the Madison Square Garden-hosted UFC 295 earlier this month.
Godinez (12-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC), who has won six of her last seven fights, finished 2023 with a perfect record. She ended the year with a split-decision victory against Tabatha Ricci at UFC 295. The 30-year-old has previously submitted a performance by Elise Reed for Performance of the Night.
Though he hasn’t been as active as Godinez, Brazil’s Jandiroba (19-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) has also had some success recently. The former Invicta FC champion is coming off unanimous decisions against Marina Rodriguez at UFC 288 this past May, and back-to-back victories over Angela Hill in May 2022.
Jandiroba (19-3) may feel unfortunate to be battling her way down the rankings and outside of the top 10, given that she has won her previous two matches against #7 challenger Marina Rodriguez and Angela Hill.
However, the Brazilian is up against a rising star in the division in Godinez (12-3), who gained even more notoriety by lighting up the Octagon in 2023.
