Dustin Poirier recently discussed the impending fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler on Weighing In. There, the former interim lightweight champion of the UFC declared that he preferred the Irish fighter. Poirier added that the former champion will be defeated by stoppage if he performs at the same level as before his leg fracture in 2021.
MMA Fans React to Dustin Poirier Predicting Conor McGregor Would Knock Out Michael Chandler
The renowned Irishman has been correctly labelled the underdog (+110) after dropping three of his last four fights. Despite being one of the best of all time, it will have been more than two years since he last competed in the Octagon.
To make matters worse, McGregor suffered a terrible injury that would have rendered him ineligible for competition and forced most lesser men into retirement.
Michael Chandler is a really talented person. He has dynamite-like hands, an unrivalled wrestling pedigree, and—most importantly—the willingness to fight whenever and whenever. He is a fan favourite because of that final quality.
In an interview with Weighing In, Dustin Poirier made this statement. “I believe that if Conor returns with the same timing and quickness that he possessed prior to the injury if he returns to that, he will defeat Chandler. Chandler is incredibly easy to hit. When you’re in front of Conor, it may seem impossible for him to touch you, but he still manages to do so. He appears shorter inside than he actually is. He effectively closes that distance by utilising his length, speed, and timing.
Fans have reacted to Dustin’s post on Instagram saying that “Diamond knows left hand’.
While others commented, “Gotta give it to the kid, still is respectful regardless of what happened! He’s McGregor all the way”.
