Conor McGregor record: Khabib Nurmagomedov UFC record: Conor McGregor came to the limelight for his unprecedented trash-talking and the ability to knock his opponents out, which instantly turned him into a UFC superstar. Meanwhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov rose to prominence for his humble gestures and high-level wrestling. Khabib won most of his fights via submission and left the sport as the undisputed UFC lightweight champion with a 29-0 pro record. For UFC News updates with InsideSport.IN

That said, Conor McGregor keeps promoting himself as a better fighter than Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman might be right, as he holds several records that Nurmagomedov couldn’t grasp in his career. From becoming the first UFC two-weight champion to competing in three different weight classes, ‘Notorious’ is one of a kind.

He is also touted as a better knockout artist than Khabib. However, statistics reflect ‘The Eagle’ has a better Knockout- run than McGregor in the 155 lbs division.

Conor McGregor record: How many knockouts does McGregor have in the lightweight division?

Conor McGregor has competed 4 times in the 155 lbs weight category, losing three of those fights, and all via finishes. After a successful lightweight debut against Eddie Alvarez in 2016, McGregor became the first UFC two-weight champion, holding the 145 lbs and 155 lbs belts simultaneously. ‘Notorious’ won the fight via TKO in round two.

However, his next attempt at the title in 2018 ended in misery as Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted the former champion in round 4, which is arguably the most humiliating loss in McGregor’s career. After a brief halt to his UFC journey and a first-round TKO win against Donald Cerrone at 170 lbs, Conor McGregor returned to the 155 lbs division at UFC 257 and took on former-foe Dustin Poirier. ‘Diamond’ Poirier avenged his featherweight loss against McGregor by landing a first-round TKO.

Conor returned at UFC 264 to face Poirier in an epic trilogy but lost in the first round again via doctor stoppage after snapping his ankle. The two-weight UFC champion hasn’t announced his return since then.

Khabib Nurmagomedov record: How many knockouts does McGregor have in the lightweight division?

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been a lightweight fighter throughout his UFC career. He has won all of his 13 UFC fights with two of them coming via TKO/KO. Although his knockout ratio is lesser than that of McGregor at 155 lbs, the number count is still high. Khabib Nurmagomedov beat Thiago Tavares in the first round via elbows/TKO. McGregor has never earned a first-round win in the lightweight category.

Khabib Nurmagomedov: Does ‘The Eagle’ have a better knockout run than Conor McGregor in the UFC lightweight division?

Khabib Nurmagomedov earned his second TKO win in 2016 at UFC on FOX: Texeira vs Evans. An under-average striker back then, Nurmagomedov knocked out Darrell Horcher via punches and earned himself a shot at the top lightweight prospects. There was no turning back from then. After Horcher, Khabib beat Michael Johnson and Edson Barboza before earning the lightweight belt against Al Iaquinta at UFC 223.

While Khabib never earned his third knockout win in the UFC lightweight division, McGregor is yet to earn his second in the category.
