Khabib Nurmagomedov declared his retirement from professional fighting following his final fight in 2020. Later, he took over for his father and started training friends and coworkers for careers in MMA. One of them was rising lightweight UFC fighter Islam Makhachev. By helping Makhachev win UFC 280 on October 22, 2022, “The Eagle” helped Makhachev win the title.
Later, Nurmagomedov quit mixed martial arts completely. Fortunately for Makhachev, Nurmagomedov is back as his trainer to help him get ready for his rematch against Charles Oliveira later this month. Hasbulla Magomedov, a friend of Makhachev’s and a prominent figure on Russian social media, also declared his intention to compete in the rematch a few days after this declaration.

The MMA community paid close attention to Hasbulla Magomedov’s call-out videos between 2020 and 2021. His following base grew to the point where the UFC hired him on the spot to handle public relations.
Interestingly, because he hails from the same country as Team Khabib, Hasbulla is also connected to them. He frequently shows up for their fights and advertises them on social media.
In his most recent match against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284, Makhachev seemed to be at his best. Many pointed to Nurmagomedov’s absence from his camp and corner as the cause after that.
Nurmagomedov will, however, be in Makhachev’s camp for the rematch, which is scheduled for UFC 294 on October 21, 2023, at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, according to a recent interview with Makhachev.
Following that, Hasbulla Magomedov tweeted from his official account to confirm his participation in UFC 294 in person. He shared a photo of himself autographing a UFC glove with the following caption:
When Makhachev faced Oliveira at UFC 280 in the same venue in 2022, “Mini Khabib” stood cage side for his friend Makhachev. Hasbulla tagged Makhachev on the same post to show his support.
Oliveira disagreed with the rematch occurring in the same venue, despite the fact that Team Khabib will benefit from this. On the other hand, Makhachev used Twitter to explain his opinion regarding the location of the rematch.
