Hooker charged a competitor at UFC 284 of using illegal substances on Twitter on Monday. The steadfast lightweight challenger asserted that one “cheating dog” paid a nurse to provide an IV.

Before limits, fighters frequently utilized IVs to help recover from weight cuts. The state of Makhachev’s weight cut to 155 pounds was a hot topic during fight week, although Hooker didn’t identify anyone in his accusations.

“Stupid c*nt believes he can fly to Australia, pay a nurse to administer an IV, and we won’t find out. Cheating Dog,” Hooker wrote.

UFC 284: Dan Hooker blames USADA for Makhachev’s breach of law

The Hangman sent the following tweet with a screenshot of an article in which Senior Vice President of AHP Jeff Novitsky stated that IV use might result in a two-year suspension. Hooker claimed in the caption that the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) is doing a “f*ck all” job. They should have investigated the transgression he claims occurred before UFC 284.

In 2015, the UFC modified the regulations governing the use of IVs for post-weight-cut rehydration. With that, the promotion’s list of forbidden substances reads: “IV infusions and injections, including those used for rehydration, are restricted at all times.”

According to the guideline, athletes who use IVs or injections of more than “mL (6.8 teaspoons) every 12 hours” are breaking the law.
