28-year-old Sean O'Malley is the youngest active UFC champion right now

Sean O’Malley knocked the bantamweight title out of Aljamain Sterling at the main event of UFC 292 and he made it look easy.

The five-round headliner ended in just 0:51 minutes of round two with ‘Sugar’ O Malley putting down ‘Funkmaster’ Sterling on the canvas. As Dana White wrapped the gold around Sean O’Malley, he became the youngest active UFC champion on the roster.

In a total of 11 divisions (8 men, 3 women), 28-year-old ‘Sugar’ surpassed 30-year-old Alexa Grasso as the youngest active UFC title holder.

Sean O’Malley has desired to defend his title against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera in December at the T-Mobile Arena in UFC 296. Vera is the only person to have beaten O’Malley in a professional MMA fight. That said, the champion now wants to avenge the defeat.
