When former world strongman Hafthor Bjornsson attempted to bench press 252 kilogrammes, he tore his pectoral muscle and needed surgery.
Before Bjornsson could press the mega-weight and set a personal record, his left pectoral muscle tore clean off the bone. Bjornsson screamed in agony when spotters freed the Icelander from the load.
Thor recently confessed that he was aiming to create a new world record for the rawest wins/wraps before the end of the year.
However, it appears that the preparations have been ruined due to a ruptured left pectoral muscle.

Bjornsson had been planning for a fight with his ex-friend Eddie Hall to take over his record at the end of the year. But we do not know if it will be possible.
Bjornsson shared a YouTube video, where he said that he has completely injured his upper chest and might require to undergo surgery. He says he has an MRI booked for the next day and will keep his subscribers updated as he believes they deserve to know what’s going on.
The powerlifter says that he has been finding it difficult to perform his basic task and wants to look for ways to recover fast. But the fighter still carries a positive outlook towards life and says it is just a new chapter that has been added to his life.
