This week marked the formal re-entry of former UFC multi-division champion Conor McGregor into the USADA Testing Pool.
Next year, McGregor is anticipated to return to the Octagon, most likely against Michael Chandler. Since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, he has not engaged in combat.
While recuperating from a lengthy leg operation, McGregor did not participate in the USADA testing pool, which sparked a lot of conjecture. Before being qualified to compete again, UFC competitors must complete the program for a minimum of six months.

Conor McGregor Has Officially Re-entered USADA Testing Pool
Whether by coincidence, the UFC just said that it will no longer be associated with USADA in 2019. It is evolving into a stand-alone program under the direction of George Piro, a former FBI special agent.
McGregor’s first samples back in the USADA testing pool were made public on Thursday, as TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter detailed below on X.
McGregor is looking to get back on track in his MMA career after losses in three of his last four fights. His last win was against Donald Cerrone in a welterweight bout in 2020.
While McGregor was out of the testing pool, some of his fighting colleagues accused him of malintent, including the use of steroids. As of this writing, there’s no direct evidence that McGregor has used performance enhancers during his absence.
The earliest that McGregor can return, pending some sort of a waiver, is April 2024. As he inches closer to a possible return to the Octagon, McGregor seems to be doing all of the right things towards a comeback.
