According to MMA Orbit, Kamaru Usman is a +235 underdog to defeat Khamzat Chiamev, who is a -290 favourite, in his UFC 294 matchup. Since the battle is only one week away, the ultimate odds could change.
According to the current odds, a $1000 stake on “Borz” will yield a payoff of $1,344.83 whereas a similar wager on “Usman” will yield a larger payout of $3,500 if the American raises his hand.
With a perfect 12-0 record, Khamzat Chimaev has won some big fights, including a decision victory against former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns.
With a 20-3 record, Kamaru Usman has defeated several elite athletes, including Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington, and Jorge Masvidal.

Kamaru Usman Will be Underdog Against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294
The UFC was forced to make one of its most significant last-minute changes to an event this week.
Islam Makhachev, the UFC Lightweight Champion, and Charles Oliveira were originally slated to face off on October 21 in Abu Dhabi. Almost exactly one year had passed since his victory over “Do Bronx” at the same arena before the fight.
However, news of Oliveira’s withdrawal from UFC 294 broke less than two weeks before the event, due to a severe cut the Brazilian sustained during training. Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has taken his spot, and eight months after their first encounter in Australia, he will fight beside Makhachev in the same ring.
Following Paulo Costa’s removal from the lineup, the co-headliner has also suffered a significant change. After “Borrachinha” revealed an infected bursa on his elbow that had necessitated surgery, the information was validated.
In an unexpected turn of events, Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman will now square off in a middleweight fight at UFC 294 with Khamzat Chimaev still unbeaten.
Usman has maintained a solid favourite status throughout his time in the Octagon. In reality, he’s only ever been the underdog once, when he faced Tyron Woodley for the title in 2019 and entered with +170 odds.
That was before, but according to DraftKings, “The Nigerian Nightmare” is starting as a +235 underdog in his matchup with Chimaev.
