One of the fiercest rivalries in UFC in recent memory was between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. “The Diamond” prevailed twice in their three fights. Poirier recently discussed the possibility of facing the Irishman once again and gave one explanation for why he would think about having a fourth fight.
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier squared up in the Octagon for the last time. In the first round, McGregor fractured his leg, yet “The Diamond” prevailed via TKO. McGregor cried out over the microphone that it was not over, even after losing. Poirier has now shared his thoughts on taking on “The Notorious” in another battle.
Conor McGregor Not Done With Dustin Poirier Yet: What’s Further
‘The Diamond’ was recently seen in attendance at UFC Vegas 82. ESPN’s Megan Olivi caught hold of him after the event. She mentioned how Conor McGregor stated that he wasn’t done with Poirier after the trilogy fight and if the former interim champion had thought of fighting him again. Poirier stated that the only reason he’d consider fighting McGregor again is to shut him up for good.
“We’ll see. I probably would try to shut him up once and for all,” said Dustin Poirier. However, he was also sure of the fact that Conor McGregor would continue his trash talk and antics, even if he lost to ‘The Diamond’ for a third time. Poirier added, “But even if I slap his a** around again, he’s still gonna be chatting.”
Then Dustin Poirier questioned Megan Olivi about the legitimacy of the bout between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor. It appeared as though he was unaware of it. Though he does not see any reason to look forward to the battle, the 34-year-old feels that it might prove to be a major one against his former foe.
“Two in one against him. I don’t really see another reason for it. But it’d be a huge fight,”
Poirier went on. In the meantime, let’s examine McGregor’s future.
