Did Jon Jones Get Colby Covington Out Of UFC 295? Revealed

Jon Jones had specifically requested the UFC brass that Covington doesn't get to share the same card as Jones.

Jon Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion, allegedly declines to compete on the same card as Colby Covington.

According to UFC President Dana White’s announcement on Friday, Jon Jones will face Stipe Miocic in November to defend his heavyweight championship. On November 11, Madison Square Garden in New York City will host the title match.

Jones will face former 265-pound champion Stipe Miocic to defend his heavyweight belt. There is currently no official word on whether Covington will face welterweight champion Leon Edwards on the “Big Apple” bout programme.

According to Colby Covington, Jon Jones does not want to appear on the same UFC show as him. ‘Bones’ and the former interim welterweight champion previously shared a room.

The next welterweight championship challenge will go to “Chaos,” as Dana White has stated, and most anticipate it to happen at UFC 295 when the organisation hosts its yearly pay-per-view event at the legendary Madison Square Garden. Covington’s most recent admissions to Michael Bisping, though, put paid to those ideas.

Covington said in an interview with Michael Bisping on his YouTube channel, that Jon Jones had specifically requested the UFC brass that Covington doesn’t get to share the same card as Jones.

In his words, he said “A little birdie told me, Michael, that he went backstage with the suits and the big dogs of the UFC and said, hey, he refuses to share a card with me,” Covington added, “So, they’re gonna give him what he wants. They don’t want to ruin their New York show, and they’re still hoping he shows up. But they need a backup plan. He’s not reliable. I’m the ultimate company man.”
