Deiveson Figueiredo has explained his decision of changing managers. He suggested that his earnings would never go over $200,000 while other champions would get nearly $600,000.
The Brazilian also revealed that his last bout against Brandon Moreno saw him make just $200,000. He said (via: Trocacao Franca):
“I’ve changed managers, guys fighting for the belt get paid around $500,000 and defending (champions) would get around $600,000 and my numbers would never go over $200,000. This last fight, I got paid ($100,000 to show and $100,000 to win) or ($100,000 to show and $50,000 to win), I don’t know, totally embarrassing”

It’s safe to say that Deiveson Figueiredo wasn’t happy with how his manager was handling the negotiations with the UFC.
However, the Brazilian has made it known that he doesn’t hold any grudges towards him and is rather thankful for everything his previous manager did for him. Figueiredo said:
“I thank (Wallid Ismail) for everything He’s done for me. I haven’t done anything unfair with him, I’m sure of that and I hope he never says otherwise.”

By joining hands with Urijah Faber, Deiveson Figueiredo will certainly hope to receive better pay checks in the future.
It is also worth noting that the UFC has also been criticized for underpaying it’s fighter numerous times.
While changing managers will definitely help the Brazilian to negotiate in a better way, it all depends on the UFC.
