Dana White: Recent UFC events, from UFC 294 to 296, have been marked by stacked fight cards, stirring excitement among fans. However, the announcement of UFC 296, the year’s last PPV event, triggered a flurry of discussions, particularly regarding the welterweight matchup involving Belal Muhammad.
Fans made their voices heard, urging UFC’s President to arrange this fight, given that nearly all top welterweights have bouts scheduled, leaving Kamaru Usman as the notable exception.
Dana White Confirms Belal Muhammad Fight
As initially reported by InsideSport, every welterweight fighter, except Belal Muhammad and Kamaru Usman, has already secured their bouts. During a recent press conference, White faced questions about the possibility of fans witnessing a fight involving Muhammad. In response, White stated, “Belal Muhammad has a fight. (Can you tell who will fight?) No I’m not gonna tell you. (Will it be Kamaru Usman?) Belal Muhammad has a fight and we will announce it soon.”
Well, fans are adamant that a matchup between Muhammad and Usman is a must-see fight. They contend that other potential contenders either have confirmed bouts or require additional victories before aiming for the title.
And given the long streak of Muhammad it is all fair from fans to ask for his fight. Additionally, fans strongly assert that Muhammad vs. Usman is the perfect #1 contender bout, paving the way for the winner to challenge the victor of Covington vs. Edwards.
