Dana White On Ronda Rousey’s Return To UFC “There’s No Shot”

Ronda Rousey may be getting ready to return to the UFC for a major event as her stint in the WWE appears to be coming to an end.

There have been some rumours regarding Ronda Rousey joining the UFC again now that her stint in the WWE appears to be coming to an end.

According to UFC president Dana White, that won’t happen. Shayna Baszler defeated Rousey in her final contest with the WWE at SummerSlam. Despite there being no confirmation of her departure, Rousey stated on Instagram that she has “no reason to stay” in the industry as a result of her kayfabe dispute with Baszler.

Dana White On Ronda Rousey’s Return To UFC

Ronda Rousey may be getting ready to return to the UFC for a major event as her stint in the WWE appears to be coming to an end.

Notably, MMA writer Ariel Helwani stated last month that Rousey was “not considering a UFC comeback” and that there was “no truth” to a rumour that she was getting ready for a prospective return. But this might be the greatest time for Nunes to return to the Octagon given that she retired earlier this summer and gave up her bantamweight and featherweight crowns.

But Dana White cleared the doubts by saying:

“There’s no shot,” White told Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. … Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it. Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”

Since losing to Amanda Nunes by first-round TKO at UFC 207 in December 2016, Rousey has not competed in the UFC. After winning her first 12 fights in MMA, she had back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, which put a stop to her career.

The UFC’s women’s division was effectively developed with Rousey’s popularity in mind by White, who had long opposed women’s MMA. She participated in eight fights in total for the promotion, winning six of them.
