Dana White Opened About Being A Boxing Aerobics Trainer
At the tender age of 17, Dana White’s hands found their way into boxing gloves. It was in 1987, during his time at Hermon High School in Maine, that he embarked on his journey into combat sports training. Through various professional transitions, White eventually found himself offering boxing lessons in Boston to make ends meet.
In a recent episode, the uncertainties of his past were brought to light, prompting a deep dive into his history. When probed about that particular job, White unreservedly affirmed his affection for it, revealing that he genuinely loved the role.
White stated, “So back in the day I used to train. And there are lots of boxer who do that sh*t. So here’s a thing if you want to bust somebody’s ba**s you’re like I heard you used to do box aerobics I used to train people and that’s how I made a living. If this didn’t break out I’d still fu*** do that I loved that job. I used to train fighters, businessmen and their wives. I loved it.”
Joined by his partner Peter Welch, White’s journey into the boxercise business bore fruits of remarkable expansion, propelling them into regional health clubs. The initiative garnered significant traction, with a substantial attendance not only from businessmen but also from homemakers, as mentioned earlier.
However, contemplating White’s ongoing success in the MMA world, it’s hard to envision him sticking to that path. If he had continued down that road, the landscape of MMA might not have experienced the rise of the premier promotion and the brilliance of a promoter like him.
