The Notorious reveals fight plan to beat Michael Chandler

The renowned former two-weight world champion is making a comeback, but he hasn’t said much about it other than a few retweets and a few intriguing image captions. He eventually broke his silence in an exclusive interview with Mirror Fighting, though, just hours before he boards a flight to Las Vegas to film the reality show.

Outside his Dublin bar, the Black Forge Inn, McGregor told the Daily Mirror, “I’m looking forward to it. I’m excited about it. I feel terrific, energized, and prepared. I’m launching my high kicks higher than I’m launching my jab, so I’m eager to return.

With a prospective involvement in his fellow countrywoman Katie Taylor’s homecoming fight in May, McGregor was out at his favorite Dublin hangout, The Black Forge Inn, with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

TUF 31: Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler

McGregor vs Chandler is anticipated to take place, at the earliest, during the fourth quarter of 2023. However, no official date or venue has been set. Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which will include lightweights and bantamweights, will have the two combatants as coaches and will start filming in the coming days. McGregor said on Monday that he would fly to Las Vegas on Tuesday.

In a trilogy bout loss against Dustin Poirier, McGregor, 34, fractured his leg and hasn’t competed since. On the other hand, Chandler will try to recover from a defeat to Poirier at UFC 281 in November 2022. Since Michael Chandler joined with the promotion in late 2020, the 36-year-old has tried to take McGregor on.
