The win was Conor McGregor’s last successful appearance in the UFC as he lost twice against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and UFC 264 afterward. Conor McGregor hasn’t won a UFC fight for almost three years now and fans didn’t fail him to remind that. Conor McGregor has gained call-outs from lightweight prospect Michael Chandler and even former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. Although McGregor verbally accepted those challenges, he has made no official moves toward securing those bouts. Hence, it’s unclear whether McGregor would go for the top-tier names on his return or not.

Conor McGregor suffered a horrific ankle injury in his latest UFC appearance against Dustin Poirier in UFC 264. Several fans saw it to be the end of his MMA career. Nevertheless, the UFC cash cow appears to have recovered and is back in form. He has teased his comeback frequently.

Since 2022 is almost in its final days, we can expect Conor McGregor to return by early or mid-2023. He has gained some extra pounds and can possibly perform in the welterweight division next. The 155 lbs and 170 lbs division is currently filled with A-listed fighters and McGregor wouldn’t lack a valid opponent to welcome him to the UFC.

Fighting Conor McGregor would be lucrative for any UFC fighter and none of them wants to miss out on receiving the big payday. That said, it remains a mystery who will make it against McGregor on another UFC return.
