The schedule date of the matchup is yet to be determined, while it is also unclear in which weight class will the bout take place.
Both- Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have had their last fight at 155 lbs. However, they can face each other at 170 lbs (welterweight).
Conor McGregor connected with Megan Olivi in a recent interview, addressing his preferred weight classes at this point.
The former double champion said, “Of course [155 Lbs] it’s in an option. I have never missed weight. I have been a 145 lbs champion and a 155 lbs champion and I like 170lbs also. I like 170, I like 155. I like them all.”
“Even like the 145 lbs champion [Alexander] Volkanovski. You know that will be a nice one at some stage. All of them.”
Conor McGregor appears to have gained some extra pounds on his frame and is seeming massive ahead of his UFC return. Meanwhile, he is yet to enlist himself in the USADA Testing pool.
So, it is still too early to picture the potential weight class for Conor McGregor’s UFC return.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler- Preview
22-6 as a professional, Conor McGregor hasn’t won a professional fight since January 2020. Following his KO win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, Conor McGregor lost consecutively against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and UFC 264.
The Irishman was away for more than a year after suffering the ankle break at UFC 264. Upon returning against Chandler, he would desperately need a victory.
Meanwhile, Michael Chandler is 2-3 in the UFC. He also suffering his last defeat in the hands of Dustin Poirier and shall look to return to the win-column at any cost against McGregor.
Chandler is an A-listed wrestler and has been a high-level MMA fighter fir several years. It will be interesting to see how he performs in arguably the biggest fight of his career against ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor.
