Conor McGregor Confirms Max Holloway Rematch: UFC News: Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway wants a rematch with Conor McGregor and he has confirmed his interest for the same.  Follow UFC News Updates with InsideSport.IN.

At UFC Fight Night 26 in August 2013, the two competed for the first time in the UFC. There, ‘The Notorious’ defeated ‘Blessed’ with a resounding victory.

After the fight, the two became household names and world champions, with McGregor unseating featherweight champion Jose Aldo before defeating Eddie Alvarez to claim the lightweight title. In the meantime, Holloway twice fought Aldo to win his own gold and then went on to successfully defend it, emerging as one of the best featherweights of all time.

However, McGregor did prevail over Holloway via decision back in 2013. ‘Blessed’ has since established himself as one of the finest featherweights to enter the cage, and Conor McGregor has gone on to become the biggest star in MMA history. Now that both men are experienced octagon fighters seeking the biggest fights imaginable, Holloway and McGregor are willing to go back to the original date. As Conor Shares in his Twitter post, “I’m never retiring so we defo fighting, lad.”

Max Holloway rekindled his feud with McGregor by saying he’s willing to compete against him in any weight class in a recent episode of The MMA Hour.

Max Holloway said, “I would love to fight Conor, I was the only guy that took Conor to a decision at 145…I know he wants to come back, but that’d be a fight that [would be] super interesting, super fun. A lot of a lot of questions.

Given that Holloway has chosen to stay down at 145 lb with the exception of one attempt at lightweight gold and that McGregor has significantly bulked up and expects to return at 170 lb, the weight would be the key factor in a bout between the two. The Hawaiian believes that, if it meant getting a deal over the finish line, he would fight at a rarely sanctioned openweight.
