She ranks 6 in the women’s pound for pound. In her initial days as the strawweight champion, she was considered the best women’s strawweight t fighter on the planet.
In her recent interview, when asked about Valentina Shevchenko’s decision to move from flyweight to strawweight she said,
“Well, that would be scary!” Esparza laughed and continued, “She’s a beast, for sure. And I think that she would definitely like, put some fear in a lot of strawweights’ hearts. And, I mean, like, because if you look at [Jessica] Andrade and Joanna [Jedrzejczyk] – some of the most dominant strawweights in the division – they go up, fight her, and they get destroyed.”
“So, I mean, it’s hard to say what a weight cut would do to her because that’s a bit to go. But yeah, she’s; that would be scary.”
Valentina Shevchenko is the apex women fighter in the Combat spectrum. With an outstanding record of 23 wins and 3 losses, she had a successful 8 title defense and pose a threat to all the women fighters in her division.
The Kyrgystan fighter is a former Muay Thai champion while her arsenal includes expertise in Judo, taekwondo, and boxing.
