We have seen over past years that the UFC and Bellator have placed a strong emphasis on thorough testing of their athletes, the same cannot be said for the world of Bare Knuckle FC or boxing. And it’s not uncommon for athletes to use PEDs to gain a competitive advantage.
And talking about Chad Mendes, this is not the first time his physique has raised a few eyebrows. Fans first began to question his bulking physique when he made his debut at BKFC, and the speculation has only grown since then. Mendes has always been a top-level athlete, but his sudden and dramatic increase in muscle mass has left many wondering if he’s using PEDs to gain an edge in the ring.
Eddie Alvarez, on the other hand, has always been known for his toughness and grit, but his recent bulking up has left some fans scratching their heads. Alvarez is a former UFC and Bellator champion, and he’s always been in great shape, but his recent transformation has been nothing short of incredible. Some fans are wondering if he’s using PEDs to help get him in the best shape of his life.

Mike Perry said recently in an interview with TheMacLife that BKFC has zero testing for JUICE, I'm kinda glad about it

Chad is definitely on the juice, Eddie? Idk. He was a unit in the ufc and here he kind of just seems like he’s a less lean than he was in ufc but still jacked, so the extra body fat has him looking bulkier. Maybe I’m wrong tho I haven’t seen him in a few years

They are looking less of MMA fighters and more of bodybuilders type.
I think both had spent more time in the weightlifting gym than working on their skills.— Shiva (@deadlywe) April 29, 2023
The drug testing in combat sports is not perfect, and there will always be athletes who look for ways to gain an edge. Only time will tell whether or not these accusations have any basis in reality. And will BKFC too bring changes in policies over PDEs.
Regardless of whether or not these fighters are using PEDs, there’s no denying that BKFC 41 is shaping up to be a historic event. With some of the biggest names in combat sports set to square off in the ring, fans can expect an unforgettable night of bare-knuckle action. Whether you’re a fan of Alvarez, Mendes, or any of the other fighters on the card, there’s no doubt that this is an event not to be missed.
