Bryan Caraway vs. Aljamain Sterling

The last fight on the Fight Pass preliminary card was between rising prospect Aljamain Sterling (12-1) and seasoned fighter Bryan Caraway (21-7), at UFC Fight Night 88 in Las Vegas. After three rounds that focused primarily on grappling, Caraway won on a split decision, ending Sterling’s perfect record.

On May 29, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Aljamain Sterling competed in his fifth UFC match against the American fighter Bryan Caraway. The bout was decided by a split decision for Sterling.

Raphael Assuncao vs. Aljamain Sterling

In their UFC on FOX 23 encounter in Denver, Raphael Assuncao and Aljamain Sterling were unable to completely untangle themselves.

On Saturday night, both competitors appeared to have some difficulty in the mile-high environment.

But during the course of the fight, Assuncao was able to maximise the effectiveness of his power blows, striking with a number of powerful overhand rights. And that was sufficient to persuade two judges at the Pepsi Centre to rule in favour of Assuncao in the fight. The Atlanta resident won by a score of 29-28 on two of the three occasions.

Since Assuncao’s most effective strikes were low kicks, Sterling attempted to pelt him with volume in the fight, which moved more slowly than expected. But Assuncao was able to defeat the majority of them. He twice unintentionally delivered low strikes throughout the bout, neither of which were ruled to be fouled.

Marlon Moraes vs. Aljamain Sterling

Marlon Moraes, who was competing for the second time in a month, brutally knocked out Aljamain Sterling to send a powerful message to the UFC’s bantamweight division.

With a knee to the chin, Moraes (20-5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) defeated Sterling (14-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC). Before Moraes’ high kick could connect, the knee landed. The fight ended 67 seconds into it.

The main programme of the UFC Fight Night 123 event at the Save Mart Centre in Fresno, California, included a bantamweight match. After the preliminary matches on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass, it broadcast on FS1.
