Israel Adesanya appears excited to see two of his former opponents- Alex Pereira and Jan Blachowicz lock horns in the co-main event of UFC 291 this weekend. Follow UFC News Updates with Insidesport.IN
Having lost to both the fighters, Adesanya is well aware of what Alex Pereira and Jan Blachowicz shall bring to the table.
Although Israel Adesanya has avenged his loss to Pereira, he is still highly in awe of the Brazilian’s fighting skills.
In his latest video on YouTube, the UFC middleweight champion explained how Jan Blachowicz can win the contest if it goes to the distance. However, Adesanya acknowledged Alex Pereira to be the bigger power puncher than Blachowicz.
He said, “I think Alex [Pereira] hits harder and it’s just the way the throws. The technique he throws with, the technique he grounds himself. He is not running, he is not moving and throwing. He sits when he gets you. Where he wants you, especially against the fence.”
“He will sit there and throw. That’s how I was able to hit harder. You all can definitely learn how to hit harder but hey if Jan [Blachowicz] gets him down, I think he is just gonna control him there. Control him for three rounds.”
“Official Pick, I am gonna go with Alex [Pereira].”
Alex Pereira, the former UFC middleweight champion, will make his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291. ‘Poatan’ will take straight on a former LHW champion and can earn a title shot by getting his hands raised this weekend.
It remains to be seen whether Alex Pereira can handle the Polish power and grappling abilities of Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291. Here’s a look at the fight card.
