With the exception of her defeat to Juliana Pena, which she avenged in their rematch, “The Lioness” had long dominated at 135 pounds and cemented her status as the finest woman to ever enter the Octagon.

As soon as Nunes rode off into the distance, the discussion shifted to who should challenge for the vacant crown.

Ronda Rousey Is Coming Back To UFC Featherweight Division Says Chelsea Chandler and MMA World Approves- “Freaking Cool”

Even though competitors like Juliana Pena and Raquel Pennington have risen to the top of the division, there have been talks of one of the UFC’s biggest ever stars making a comeback.

Ronda Rousey hasn’t been spotted near the Octagon since she lost to Amanda Nunes in 2016, but she may have a chance to reclaim her title immediately.

Former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk claimed that if Rousey decided to make a comeback, she could easily get a championship chance.

Chelsea Chandler too has said that she has heard that Ronda Rousey is coming back at 145 pounds.

Fans have positively commented on the tweet with comments like “In reality would be freaking cool”.

There are bantamweight contenders who would disagree with Jedrzejczyk’s assertion, despite the fact that it might be tempting to become overexcited about the prospect of seeing one of the biggest names in combat sports overall make a comeback.

Since losing to Holly Holm in 2020, Raquel Pennington has won five straight matches. Juliana Pena was originally set to meet Amanda Nunes in a trilogy bout, but she was later substituted by Irene Aldana, which led to Nunes’ final match of her career.

Rousey’s return from a loss and seven years away from the sport wouldn’t sit well with any of the women, who both have strong claims to be the front-runners for the vacant title.
