Following the nearly two-year break he took for a crossover boxing contest against Floyd Mayweather, McGregor’s prolonged departure from the sport is now his second-longest streak without an MMA match.

In order to match McGregor’s new body, three-time Bellator 155-pound champion Chandler bulked up for the fight. The former lightweight champion will now be welcomed back at welterweight.

Dana White has confirmed that the bout between Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler will definitely happen, though the location and date hasnt been finalised yet.
Since he became the first fighter to hold two different weight division titles simultaneously, Mc Gergor has been a pillar of the UFC. The Irish-born fighter also holds the record for the quickest knockout in UFC history after defeating Jose Aldo for the featherweight title in just 13 seconds in 2015. However, the 34-year-old has dropped three of his previous four fights and two consecutive since that time.

Chandler, on the other hand, has won the lightweight division of Bellator three times. The native of Missouri joined UFC as a free agent in 2021 and has already competed against some of the sport’s best lightweight competitors. Chandler has lost three of his four fights, including a knockout loss to Tony Ferguson in May. His most recent defeat came against Poirier at UFC 281 in November.
